And because it is Hariraya Puasa.. they say that when you submit yourself to fasting fervently.. anything you wish for will come true. But one should be wary of the wishes they ask for. Nothing too fancy nor too bongga.
My son wished for more time with his mom.
My mom wished for more time with her grandchildren.
I wished for more time with my mom.
...but I also wished more people would help us in our endeavor to help the displaced in Mindanao.
My son and mom’s wish are still in heaven being decided upon by the Eternal Being.
My wish on the other hand….. came true instantly.

The damage brought by the conflict in Mindanao has been unfortunately extensive and permanent. Civil conflict always destroys much more than physical plants and infrastructure. The core of the damage is done to the fabric of society, to the stock of social capital. We could only hope for a process of peace negotiations and cooperative implementation that could gradually replace the vicious historical circle of dispossession, resistance, and mistrust in Mindanao with a positive dynamic.
In an effort to enlighten and move our fellow countrymen to be actively involved, we, Rogelio Braga and the UP Repertory Company will be staging a twin-bill production that tackles pressing issues of peace, discrimination and divisiveness— Ang Bayot, ang Meranao, at ang Habal-Habal sa Isang Nakababagot na Paghihintay sa Kanto ng Lanao del Norte and Ang Mga Mananahi, both of which have been part of the recently concluded Virgin Labfest 2008.
This production will be a fund-raising campaign that will target internal communities in Pikit, North Cotabato: through , an organization based in Davao City that aids the said community.
In this light, we would like to invite your reputable organization to be our partner in this venture and take part in our commitment of advocating change in our reform-deprived society. We humbly ask that you provide us with the venue and technical requirements for the show together with other needed equipments for the production.
