Happy Birthday my dear. You're turning 6 and my, how fast you've grown. From a fat screaming baby you morphed into a scrawny, tall and rambunctious whirling dervish.
From the moment you were born I knew you were different. Different from my friends children. While they cooed over their babies laying down on cute little basinets I had to stop myself from giving you drugs just to make you stop crying (i'm kidding darling). You never wanted to be left alone in the crib. You always wanted to be carried and breastfed 24 hours a day. My back hurt and my breasts were sore but you just kept on suckling. I loved it regardless. While other babies played with their building blocks, you ate them. While they were being given peaceful baths, you were splashing all over the place. I couldn't leave you alone for even a few minutes for fear of you climbing atop the furnitures and skydiving to the floor (you did actually hide inside the refrigerator for a few seconds but chose to look for another hiding place but that's another story). There was a time when you put my phone in the refrigerator since it was warm from charging. You said it needed cooling. Once you almost jumped off the stairs to show me that you were Superman. Good thing I caught hold of your shirt collar just in time for your leap. Always while at the shopping mall even after an hour long feeding at home you would act up and show signs of hunger(Clue: you were fully breastfed at that time). I perenially smelled of you. My clothes, my beddings and even my skin had the same angelic aroma of you. Heavenly.
I would want to freeze time and keep you young forever.. but that would be robbing you of your life. You taught me a lot and showed me that I was capable of doing something good. In all my prayers I kept asking for an angel to look out for me. An angel to save me from my life's superficial miseries. I kept searching. And realized it was you. You are my angel on this earth. My little boy.
Moms love for you is as big as the universe and I thank the Eternal Saviour for sending you to me.
Stay safe palangga.
Love always,
Mom
