no running.

i was asked to run for public office today. me. i couldn't help but laugh. giggle is more like it. i wanted to smack the person who was sent to talk to me. he was offering a sparkling new pick-up truck as a goodwill gift too. barking at the wrong tree ain't? that was when i was reminded that the 2010 elections were coming faster than a bullet train. the bullet train that would cost the Maguindanaoans hundreds of millions of people's money. what i wanted to tell this clueless person was.. "you can go back to your boss and please tell him to shove his pick-up truck up his dirty a@#%^&%."

hehe no I didn't say that, bit I was tempted to sooo bad.

the "messenger" said I could sleep on it and give him an answer in a day or two. he reassured I would be "properly" compensated for my "enlisting" in their party. i was assured of a sure win, he said. sure win my foot!!

a whole gamut of cousins, uncles, brothers, sisters are preparing their armada for the 2010 elections. kanya kanyang gimik na ang pinag-iisipan (they're cooking up all sorts of gimiks). at least they're starting early.

politics has never been my thing, it was my fathers though. but not mine.

I'm happy where I am. content taking the jeepney or taxi to work and coming home to my lovely children and spending weekends in the playground. I have fought tooth and nail to have this simple life and no amount of new cars and an assurance of money can lure me into that kind of lifestyle ever again.

so the answer is - i'm not running. just gonna walk and enjoy the breeze and take photos of flowers and people on my way to that elusive peace in Maguindanao. optimisim is the way to go. i have some friends with me so i'm thinking we can do it :)
