japanese occupation?

okey, i'm sorry. the last time i updated this blog was during the japanese occupation! apologies for that. the year of the pig has ushered in very interesting updates indeed. yes, this early in the year i already have tons of topics to blog about. but first of all... let's deal with the red letter day that is Valentine's day. tomorrow is the V-day.

i've never believed in Valentines since it brought traumatic experiences when i was when i was younger. i convinced myself that it was a ploy of department stores, motels, hotels, prostitutes, restaurants to sell their wares. and i also (very convincingly) disuaded myself that Valentines day legitimizes pre-marital sex. oh hell i was a young girl then so pardon the stupidity.

i remember the V-day way back in my sophomore year eons (?!!@) ago. all my girlfriends received flowers, cards and what-nots. and yes, unfortunately, i didn't get any. not a thing. nada. not even a self-written note on a piece of tissue paper! pathetic huh? well, i knew i wasn't the least bit attractive. okey fine.. so i was ugly. argghh. but i had my good points though. i could drive an SUV, i was reed thin and i had whitney houston's skin tone. seriously. i was that cute!!

anyyywayyy. V -day brings back awful memories. even though i had my share now of very memorable, sweet, mushy memories - - the awful moments still prevail. so, at this age i have sworn off the day of the hearts. and i always wear black on the day itsself. black to symbolize that i abhor Valentines day. and that love is to be shown and showered on our loved ones everyday, every minute and every second of our existence. and not on a day some marketing genius planned it to be.
